Cornell’s TEEAL Project Update Shipped

Continuing its long-time partnership with Cornell University, Contegra Systems redesigns the TEEAL library, an electronic collection of full-text articles, abstracts and graphics from 140 agriculture science journals.

White Plains, NY (April 16, 2011) - Launched in 1996 with funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, The Essential Electronic Agriculture Library (TEEAL) continues to provide a cost-effective resource for agricultural researchers in developing countries worldwide. For this latest version of TEEAL, Cornell once again chose to partner with Contegra Systems.

With a redesigned user interface, TEEAL now operates in a Web browser environment and incorporates more advanced search and navigation technology, making searching and browsing faster, easier and more intuitive. Most important for its global distribution, TEEAL is now delivered via a portable storage device, making distribution of more than 5 million pages of information more economical and convenient than ever before.

Mary Ochs, the TEEAL Project Director at Cornell University praises Contegra Systems for its efforts. "The TEEAL Project has worked with Contegra Systems for more than a decade. Each edition of TEEAL surpasses our expectations, and we are continually impressed by the quality of Contegra’s work, commitment and collaborative style."

Rob Wiesenberg, President of Contegra Systems adds, "It is particularly satisfying to use our technical expertise to collaborate on a product that so significantly improves agricultural research, teaching quality and productivity."

TEEAL is a project of Cornell University’s Albert R. Mann Library in cooperation with over 60 major scientific publishers, societies and index providers. It was created to help institutions in developing countries significantly expand their journal collections despite the prohibitive cost of journal subscriptions.
